CityLife | Northern Beaches | Why Two?

Annie Gillow, owner of two Palm Cove clothing & swimwear boutiques is often asked “Why two boutiques in Palm Cove?”

Her response, “I wanted to encourage customers to make a day out of their visit to both Palm Cove stores, by creating two very differently stocked boutiques further enough apart that as you strolled between the two, you would also take in the sea air and stop and enjoy a nice coffee or lunch. One clever customer I know starts with a visit to a nail salon and finishes her day shopping with a relaxing massage. “

“I felt the stores needed to be unique, whilst covering varying tastes, providing an eclectic array of choices in comfort and style.” From surf wear to bohemian, boho to classic, both stores are filled with on-trend and clever pieces. “Think comfort, think breathable fabrics suitable for the tropics, plus assorted shoes and slides your feet will thank you for. Add to this clever swimwear suitable for all ages – plus a few designer pieces, if you are game, that will bring out the inner-cougar in you.”

“I also felt the need to bring relief to the stress of choosing swimwear, I wanted to provide options of clever bather pieces, whilst having some fun & ensuring a positive result of your shopping experience. I wanted, whilst doing all this, for you to enjoy the special charm of Palm Cove.”

“My staff are sincere and simply want to help you. They won’t vomit out some rehearsed line or tell you how great you look in everything. There is no hard selling – it’s crucial my customers don’t feel pressured in any way.”

Annie says that whilst her stores were originally dedicated to the ladies, the men aren’t forgotten, as both stores now have a generous selection, aptly called MANZONE.

Annie’s mission was & is to provide customers with choice, through a fun, positive and personal shopping experience – something you just can’t get online. “I care about my customers and I want everyone to receive compliments in their outfits.”

Annie suggests, “for parking in Palm Cove, turn left off Cedar Road, into Williams Esplanade, where you will find about 50 carparks near the jetty. Park and stroll along the footpath that meanders beside the beach, and enjoy the dappled shade from the trees overhead. At a casual pace, it’s about four minutes, along Williams Esplanade from the jetty to Annie’s at the Beach at Peppers Beach Club and a further seven minutes to Annie’s second store, Beach Catwalk on Veivers Road. Obviously that is the direct route, and the length of time it takes visiting both stores depends on how many cocktails you enjoy along the way!”

“So tell me readers, have I succeeded in providing two great excuses for you to enjoy the Palm Cove charm?” Annie asks.
