– Learn from experts specialising in all things childhood how to thrive with your child as they blossom in adulthood.
We will open the floor to conversations about helping our babies thrive in their first five years, your kid’s nutrition and physical health, as well as their mental wellbeing and the challenges pre-teens and teenagers face around social media.

Danae JonesNavigating Social Media & The Online World for Pre-Teens & Teens.

Danae Jones has been in the media business for over 25 years.
She is the driving force behind the Danae Jones Consulting brand – which operates in Cairns, Townsville, Gold Coast and Sydney – with extensive national and international media experience across all mediums (TV, Radio, Print and Online).
Danae is also an experienced Chair and Director on many not-for-profit boards across the Far North Queensland region, contributing to the communities growth in various sectors including health, education, defence, energy and construction. In 2019 Danae invested in CityLife Magazine and in June 2022 she purchased the entire CityLife Media Group and continues to grow and expand the brand’s footprint.

Danae was one of the founding members of the regions very first Anti-Cyberbullying Taskforce facilitated by Health Reimagined.

In this presentation you’ll learn ways to monitor your child’s online and social media usage, the laws already in place to protect your child from predatory behaviour and online harassment and abuse and at what point you can exercise your rights. Alison Fitzsimmons | Baby Bears Chair

Alison is a writer, educator and new grandmother who believes that childhood is not a race, but a rhythm.

She lives with her husband and their dogs in a house with 43 steps, tucked in the rainforest of Far North Queensland. Her work invites grown-ups and children to return to what matters most -attention, wonder and our relationship with our living Earth.

First Aid Essentials: Protecting Your Little One from Common Childhood Emergencies

Loretta Woodford is passionate about educating parents and caregivers to be confident in an emergency situation through her Baby/Child First Aid sessions.  She is a Registered Nurse with a Master in Nursing (Education) and the Owner of Baby First Aid Qld.  She is dedicated to ensuring every parent in north Queensland becomes their own child’s lifesaver. Loretta is a north Queensland local with three adult children and four grandchildren, 2 of which are seventh generation north Queenslanders.  In her spare time Loretta loves to get away with hubby in the caravan for some site seeing and R&R.

Georgia is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with over five years of experience at Health Management Dietitians, where she works as a Senior Dietitian. Passionate about empowering young people to feel confident, nourished, and strong, Georgia supports preteens and teens across a wide range of areas, from general healthy eating to more complex concerns like eating disorders, sports nutrition, and body image. She takes a practical, compassionate approach to help teens thrive through the ups and downs of adolescence, whether they’re navigating growth spurts, fueling for sport, or building a positive relationship with food.
