It’s halfway through the year – how did that happen?! Thank goodness the school holidays are upon us and the daily school lunches and rushing out the door might have eased a little for some. For those still grinding away and rushing kids off to holiday care or friends’ and families’ places while you continue to work – we see you! Our team is made up of all of the above arrangements! The juggle is most certainly real for parents and carers at this time of year.
There are loads of school holiday activities that are affordable and many that are FREE, so check out our WHAT’S On Guide for all the fun family-friendly things to do. This beautiful cooler weather is the perfect time to venture outdoors, make use of the fire pit and rug up in your winter woollies for what is always such a very short cool spell for the Far North. Enjoy it while it lasts! We know the cost of living pressures have many families tight for disposable income at the moment, but don’t fear – remember it costs nothing to toast some marshmallows around the campfire with the kids. Find those special moments to just stop, take a breath, enjoy nature and spend some precious time together sitting under the stars with family and friends. It is those almost zero-cost moments that are some of my most treasured childhood memories to this day.

For those who attended our KidsLife Expo on the 7th–8th June 2025 – check out our wrap-up of the two-day jam-packed event, and you may just spot yourself in our KidsLife SOCIALS! The event was a huge success, attracting 1,700 locals to join in the fun at Fred Moule Pavilion, Cairns Showgrounds and Seville Mercy Centre, while also raising $15,000 for the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation to be directed to the Special Care Nursery at Cairns Hospital. Thank you to all of our sponsors, attendees, online raffle donors and our long list of prize donors – without you, we couldn’t have collectively achieved this for our community.
