What’s the name of your business and what do you sell?
Our business is The Jones Sisters. We are sisters who sell kid friendly products that include delicious fruit-flavoured lip balms and lip glosses, two types of compact mirrors, handcrafted beaded bracelets and hair accessories, a selection of jewellery and soon we will be releasing our very own skincare and body care range.
What made you want to start your business?
It all started in the kitchen at home making homemade lip balms and lip glosses. We sourced recipes and supplies and got to making products that were kid-friendly. With the help of our parents, we decided to take our business venture to the next level. At the beginning of 2024 we worked hard with our Mum & Dad to source suppliers that were willing to work with us and develop our ideas and help us create kid-safe lip balms, lip glosses, skincare and accessories. Since that time our business has grown a lot and kept us busy after school and on weekends in between school and sport.
What do you love most about running your own business?
We love meeting our customers in person at market days and expos, it always puts a smile on our face to hear what products they love the most. We also love creating new products with our manufacturers and choosing the flavours and aromas and coming up with the names of our new product lines. It’s a lot of fun in amongst all the hard work.
What’s one thing you learned or enjoyed at the KidsLife Expo?
The KidsLife Expo is where we launched our first kid friendly product range in 2024 so it holds a special place for us. It has been a great event for our business and our brand as it has established us and got us known in the local community. We had customers come back to visit us this year which was so good to see. We love to see other kids and their parents enjoying our products and the expo is a lot of fun for everyone.
