NYE Resolution Fun Run

The Cairns Regional Council NYE Resolution Fun Run is a 4km night time fun run and it’s FREE to register. Register with your family and friends and do something that is fun and challenging. It’s an excellent way to motivate your friends, club mates, colleagues and family members to achieve a personal challenge together. This is more than just a “fun run” it is a celebration and a healthy way to ring in the new decade. The first 200 runners over the finish line will receive a special medal. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and top female over the finish line.

Chinese New Year is a time of great joy, excitement and goodwill. In Cairns, these celebrations are brought together by CADCAI as the Cairns Chinese New Year Festival. Throughout the two-week celebration, the city comes alive with feasts, fiery dragons, dancing and music. Highlights include the spectacular Chinese New Year lion and dragon performances at Cairns Lagoon Plaza and the Lantern Festival, which is held at the end of the 15 day celebration. Celebrate what’s great about our nation at local Australia Day events! Council proudly presents Australia Day celebrations in three locations each year, the city based event will be held at Tobruk Pool, the Northern Beaches celebration rotates between three beaches: Trinity Beach, Yorkeys Knob and Palm Cove. There will also be a community-run event down south.

This year Council have teamed up with Tobruk Memorial Pool to bring you the Australia Day pool party! Tobruk will open their gates free of charge between 9am and 12pm on Tuesday 26 January 2021.
