Selena Murphy is passionate about her job and counts herself lucky to do what she loves every day.
As the director and interior designer at Azure Style Collections, Selena’s passion shines through in her work as she delivers amazing results for her clients.
Azure Style offers full interior design services, homewares, artwork, furniture, curtains and blinds, in fact everything you need to style your home.
Azure brings an eclectic range of bespoke decorating ideas and pieces to create an individual touch to your home.
Selena has been in the home decor industry for more than 30 years. She began her career renovating houses in Townsville.
“When I moved to Cairns I could see the need for a more personal service for people in Far North Queensland who needed help redesigning kitchens, bathrooms and a complete interior design package,” she said.
“I get a huge amount of satisfaction when I achieve the desired results.”
“I love seeing my clients’ faces when they view the end result for the first time, and there is nothing more satisfying when a client asks you back to revamp their home again or refer you to a friend. That’s when I know I have done a good job.”
“Tell me a woman who doesn’t love home decor and admiring beautiful furniture in all those glossy magazines. I am so lucky to do what I do every day.”
Azure Style Collections is based at 339 Sheridan St.
“I had been driving past ‘the old Queenslander’ for years and felt the need to freshen her face up and make her stand proud again, I named her “Pearl” after my mum,” Selena said.
“It’s such a creative space for me and a place where people can stroll around and feel like they could actually live there.
Selena has exciting news for Northern Beaches residents, with a new studio opening in Palm Cove in September. “I am a resident of Palm Cove and love the whole atmosphere along the waterfront,” she said.
“I really enjoy meeting people and Azure @ Palm Cove will have some amazing pieces that I have collected, and I’ll also have beautiful jewellery, swimwear and clothing. I’m excited to open the doors, I wish I could work there every day!”
Selena has developed an eye for unique design and likes to mix styles and infuse her work with elements from all over the world. This can be seen in her floor plans, vision boards and completed projects.
Selena prides herself on getting to know her clients, their personality and their space and then designs with their needs and lifestyle in mind.
