Meet The 2025 CityLife Annual Business Retreat Headline Speakers
Daniel Flynn
Co-Founder – thankyou.
In 2008, as just teenagers, Daniel Flynn and his mates Justine and Jarryd co-founded ‘Thankyou.’ to help bridge the gap between two of our world’s extremes: extreme poverty & extreme consumerism.
Thankyou. became known for its breakthrough, viral consumer marketing campaigns — from flying helicopters over supermarket head offices to launching a pay-what-you-want book – ‘Chapter One’ to raise money to help the organisation expand, which became second only to the Harry Potter book launch in airport bookstores – but this was only the beginning of this innovative brand.
A recent announcement about Thankyou.’s plans to expand globally generated 2.6 billion impressions and 825 media features in 36 countries. Thankyou. has held the number one hand-wash position in Australia for five years and some of the highest category loyalty, which has helped raise $18.55 million for its impact partners.
Thankyou. was voted Number 1 by Australian consumers as the most sustainable brand, placed ahead of Tesla in 2022 (Mumbrella, 2022). With over 35 disruptive, design-led and sustainable consumer products across the personal care and home cleaning categories, Thankyou. has to date given $18.1M (AUD) to charities from products sold in Australia & New Zealand. After the proven success of the social enterprise business model, Thankyou. is now launching across the Middle East, Asia and Europe.
Daniel Flynn has spoken in global forums around the world, most notably alongside US President Barack Obama. He has been recognised in Forbes Asia 30 under 30 for Social Entrepreneurship, one of JCI’s 10 Outstanding Young People of the World, and was the recipient of EY Entrepreneur of the Year (Southern Region).
Consumerism reimagined is what Thankyou. is all about and the founders say:“We live in a world of extremes. Thankyou. exists to bridge two of them.”
