You can be your own boss for just $100 a week, thanks to a revolution of the franchising industry by James Home Services Australia, which is considered the ‘Netflix of franchising’.

The leading home service franchise has launched a new subscription model, the only one of its kind in Australia, to lower barriers of entry to business ownership and give Australians an opportunity to make business ownership a reality with subscriptions starting from just $100 a week.

James Home Services’ CEO Rhiannon Simcocks said franchising was an enabler for people to enter into business ownership but needed a revamp to achieve that in the current economic climate.

“Franchising has always enabled people who otherwise might struggle to start their own business to do just that, leveraging an established brand and processes to mitigate risk and reduce costs,” Ms Simcocks said. “But with rates rising, it’s getting more expensive to take out a loan to buy into a franchise, and less and less people have the cash in hand to purchase their business upfront, so we knew we had to rethink our offering to continue making business ownership a possibility for Australians.

“Franchising is a critical pillar of our Australian economy, facilitating 98,000 businesses and contributing over $184 billion annually.

“It’s essential that we continue to make franchising an accessible option for those wanting to start a business.”
The new subscription model offered by James Home Services is the most significant announcement made during the business’ 30-year history, and the company is confident in its success due to the increasing demand they have experienced both from customers and potential franchisees.

“With the volume of enquiries ever increasing, we had to find a way to make it easier for people to get into the industry and own their own business to harness this demand,” Ms Simcocks said. “For many, it will take one look at what they spend on liabilities like their car payments or their entertainment subscriptions to realise the very realistic opportunity we’re presenting to them to be a business owner for as little as $100 a week.”

The established James Home Services business is renowned for cleaning, gardening and other home services throughout Australia and particularly along the east coast.

The new subscription model, which offers training, marketing, support, backup and coaching, will first be available for those wanting to launch an Interior Cleaning business with James Home Services with the goal of making this model available across the entire James Home Services suite of services by the end of 2022.

Currently a James Home Services Interior Cleaning franchise costs $26,600 to buy, but the subscription model cuts that price into manageable payments of less than half a per cent each week.

For franchisees that may not have all the necessary equipment to begin with, James Home Services can also offer franchisees equipment for just an extra $25 per week to their subscription fee through the new subscription model.

Standard franchising fees apply which are calculated as a percentage rate of the individual franchise turnover, and there is a $1,000 upfront investment.

At the end of the five-year period the business owner will fully own a James Home Services franchise and subscription payments will cease.

Backed by 30 years of industry experience, James Home Services works with clients throughout Australia to clean, garden and provide other home services. James Home Services is a franchising business providing thorough, efficient and professional home services with a personal touch that can only come from being local.
